SAT season is upon us, and it is easy to get overwhelmed by the seemingly daunting task ahead of you- studying for this 10 sectioned, three and a half hour test.
What you probably don't realize is that you are already well into studying!
1. Passing high school algebra- knowledge of basic math skills!
2. Perusing newspapers or articles- quickly critically assessing small segments of written work
3. Looking up words you don't know- building that vocab
4. Mentally focusing for 20-25 min segments- workouts, academic testing, playing an instrument, Call of Duty battles
5. Reading novels- building that base of reading comprehension, even if it is a romance novel
6. Calculating the tip when eating out with friends- quick percentage skills
7. Correcting your friends' grammar- learning while feeling superior! Win-win.
8. Waiting until the last minute to write that 2 page paper- procrastination has helped you develop those 25 min paper writing skills
9. Helping your friends/siblings through their homework- teaching is the best way to learn
10. Taking 10 deep breathes when you're feeling overwhelmed- helps you refocus and take on the challenge ahead.
